Bogolo J. Kenewendo is a Former Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry of Botswana and was the youngest Minister and female Member of Parliament in the history of Botswana. As Minister, she introduced key reforms like online business registration systems, digital economy strategy, supplier development for SMEs and e-commerce ecosystem to transform trade and business in Botswana. She chaired several trade agreement negotiations including post-Brexit agreement with the UK, Joint Council Economic Partnership Agreement with the European Union, Tripartite Free Trade Area Agreement and promoted protection of children’s rights by moving two motions. She serves as Program Leader for Molaya Kgosi Program, Board Chair of Molaya Kgosi Trust, member and advisor for the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres‘s High-Level Panel on Digital Cooperation, member of the WEF Global Future Council for Global Public Goods in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Bogolo is a Chevening scholar with an MSc in International Economics from University of Sussex, a certified Project Management PRINCE 2 Practitioner and a BQA accredited trainer on economic issues. She has received numerous honours including the Ten Outstanding Young Persons award, Formidable Woman award, Chevening’s 35 Global Changemakers award and constantly features in Africa’s most Influential person’s lists.
