Claudio Castro is a Climate Resilience Advisor at Root Capital. The advisory service provides tools and training for coffee farmers associations across Latin America to evaluate their climate risk and their adaptive process. He supports the development and analysis of environmental and agronomic indicators to enable data-driven and evidence-based decision making. Before joining Root Capital, he was part of other climate programs in the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture, until 2017. He was the manager of a sugarcane biological pest control for the farmers’ association of IPSL in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, during 2011-2014. Claudio holds a licentiate degree in Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resource Management from the EARTH University and a master’s degree in Agriculture and Development from the University of Reading.
